FloVision AI Secures $8.7M Series A to Deploy AI Across Food Production Operations

Spearheaded by Insight Partners, the financing fuels FloVision AI’ worldwide expansion and recruitment across engineering, AI, and sales divisions.

July 30, 2025 — FloVision AI, a company delivering AI-driven yield and quality analytics for protein processing to the global food sector, announced today it has secured $8.7 million in Series A funding. The round was spearheaded by global software investor Insight Partners, with contributions from Serra Ventures, SOSV, and Rockstart. The capital will fuel FloVision’s accelerated expansion across North America, Europe, Australia, South America, and Asia while driving recruitment in engineering, AI/ML, and sales positions.

”This investment opens up an entirely new frontier for food production technology,” said Rian Mc Donnell, founder and CEO of FloVision. “We’re already enabling protein processors to operate more efficiently and gain greater command over their workflows. With these additional resources, we’re intensifying our focus on addressing real customer challenges and accelerating the delivery of capabilities the food industry demands.”

AI for the Food Sector

FloVision develops AI-driven solutions that enable food processors to track yield, oversee quality, and enhance workforce performance in real time. Its compact sensors mount directly onto conveyor belts and workstations, inspecting each product using vision, depth, and load cell technology as it passes along the line. This empowers processors to evaluate yield, quality, and employee performance on an individual-item basis—without interrupting production.

The platform also identifies defects, misclassifications, and foreign contaminants in real time, generating automatic alerts and facilitating sorting, regrading, or rejection immediately. Additionally, it aligns products with appropriate customer specifications, highlights areas of loss or recovery, and records traceability data from source to final shipment. All information feeds into a unified dashboard where supervisors can identify trends and benchmark performance across shifts, allowing them to respond more rapidly and effectively. With FloVision, food producers gain the actionable intelligence required to optimize operations and output.

”FloVision is establishing a new benchmark for operational excellence in protein processing,” said Jeff Horing, Co-founder and Managing Director at Insight Partners. “By leveraging computer vision hardware and software, FloVision’s platform can plug into processing stations to create long-term durability and immediate ROI with yield optimization. They’re not merely introducing analytics—they’re transforming how production decisions are made throughout the industry.”

Demonstrated Impact Across International Markets

Since its launch in 2020, FloVision has analyzed over 23.2 million kilograms [51.1 million lbs] of food and implemented its system in prominent beef and poultry facilities across North America, Europe, and Australia. Clients utilizing the platform have recaptured up to 1.5% additional yield, strengthened quality control, and elevated staff training and productivity.

By integrating FloVision into their essential workflows, protein production and food processing facilities achieve greater yield and faster time to value in a market that has historically been slow to adopt innovation. FloVision clients have realized up to 15x ROI by minimizing waste, recouping lost yield, and making swifter, data-informed decisions on the production floor.

Shaping the Future of Food

With this latest funding, FloVision is recruiting software, hardware and AI/ML engineers, AI data annotators, and sales representatives to serve its expanding customer base and broaden product capabilities. “We’re seeking individuals who are eager to tackle real-world challenges in one of the world’s most vital industries,” said Mc Donnell. “From your first day, you’ll be creating tools that empower the people who feed the world.”

The company functions with a hybrid team spanning the U.S. and Europe and provides global positions with flexibility and purpose.
